This is Mia Fey. I wanted to check and see how you were doing after that mission and thank you and the others for your hard work. Please let me know if there's anything I can do for you now that we're back.
[It's a little awkward and not too different from what she sends Kokichi and Honoka, but all the same it's genuine.]
[ BOY I AM LATE ON THIS ONE SORRY. But whenever Deku comes back to his room on this day, he will find a little pink box addressed to him at his door. Inside the box is a cupcake -- it's a dark chocolate cupcake with vanilla bean frosting, perfectly piped and colored green with food coloring (like his hair!).
There's also a small note that reads "Thanks for the other day. - Natsuki" ]
[Michael, in finding a present for Deku, ended up focusing on one thing he knew for sure the young human liked. Specifically, "anime".
He has a vague idea of what constitutes "anime" back on Earth. It's not even entirely wrong! That sort of human culture has never been of particular interest to him, but he's pretty sure it's somewhere in the realm of things Jason enjoys.
Here on Faerun, though, these scraps of cultural osmosis are not going to help him. There is no anime on Faerun. Truly, we are in the worst of timelines. In his attempts, though, Michael has acquired something like a Faerunian comic book. It might be intended for children, but it does feature superhero-like adventurers! The neatly-wrapped package is left outside Deku's door a few days before Christmas, along with a note:]
I hope you enjoy this. Finding it was a little strange.
[ deku will find homemade daifuku shaped like bakugo's head and a card from maya wishing him happy candlenights! it has doodles of himself in various poses such as weightlifting and giving an anime thumbs up. it details how cool she thinks he is, that she's happy to be friends with him, and wishes him happiness and safety going forward! ]
He really didn't mean to be gone for so long, he just wanted to pop in to where Kirishima was and check up on him. Maybe help here and there... see how the restoration of Vista Virs was going.. next thing he new it'd been months, and he was almost nervous to return to his shared room with his childhood friend who still doesn't remember who he is.
...except. When he returns, he notices that Deku has a new roommate now. Makes sense, honestly, but at the same time it kind of feels. Weird? He can't really put his finger on what he felt about being replaced so quickly, but he doesn't care to try and figure that out either.
Instead, he does what he came here to do and knocks loudly on Deku's door before entering.]
Hey there, shitty nerd.
[He stands in the doorway, leaning nonchalantly against the doorframe as if he wasn't gone for four months without much of a word.]
[Izuku doesn't spend much time in his room. For some reason, it's just... strange to be there. A familiar nagging about what's missing. Or who's missing really. Even if he can't remember, it's enough to keep him away.
So it's sort of ironic that's where Bakugo catches him. Since he was really only there to drop off more books into his collection.
Izuku just blinks (is it just the light or does one of his eyes seem abnormally dull?) at this person. This... stranger. Who just awkwardly barged into his room.]
[A messily-wrapped box, with Izuku's name written directly on the colorful paper. There's a handmade card on top, decorated with stickers and doodles of wintry images like snow, gingerbread men, etc. It's not properly signed, but the signature isn't necessary. On one side of the interior:]
Tall green trees in lights twinkling bright, Sparkling strands of tinsel and snow pure white, The smell of hot cocoa and apple cider too, A very merry Candlenights, from Sayori to you!
[And then on the other side:]
I hope these are okay, I tried to work off what you've told me about him but I know they're not perfect! Since you said you like to write stuff down I figured this would be nice. Thank you for everything. You're a really good friend and an A+ hero!
[Inside the box is a lovingly-carved but somewhat lumpy All Might ornament, a nice new pen, and a fancy leather-bound journal embossed with Izuku's initials and a design of a knight fighting monsters who...somewhat resembles All Might! It was the closest she could get.]
....are you serious? That's all you're gonna say after I've been gone for four months?
[He knows that Deku still doesn't remember him but.. wouldn't he remember the times they had after his memory was wiped? Or... maybe not. Maybe he lost those memories too, while Bakugo was away.]
[His brow furrows. He doesn't... what? Doesn't know what to say? Or what to do? He's supposed to know this person. But when he scans the other boy's face, there's nothing. Like there's a gaping void in his memory that's stolen everything.]
[ A day late, there's a wrapped book outside Izuku's doorstep. Opening it up will have him find a book, which reads Parties and Me: Socializing For Beginners, and a note.
I'm shit at explaining this stuff. But I think this puts it better. Tip one, don't jump up trees.
